Fracture Care: Step by Step

Course Description:
This series will focus on all aspects of Orthopaedic fracture treatment, including fracture definitions for closed, open, and percutaneous fractures. Fracture care, the global period, and transfer of care guidelines will be discussed, as well as how to code for external fixation, hardware removal, debridement, active wound care, and negative pressure wound therapy.

Course Learning Objectives:
• Gain a thorough understanding of the fracture guidelines specific to CPT's Musculoskeletal Introductory Section
• Break down the appropriate coding of fracture care, including when to bill itemized evaluation and management visits vs. global fracture care CPT codes
• Learn how to accurately code for external fixation devices and hardware removal
• Review the appropriate CPT codes for wound care management
